2020 Rowathon and Covid-19

Dear Rowathon Rowers and Supporters,

The 2020 Flying Doctor Rowathon has been planned for 3 October, with a new course that will take rowers approximately 75Km down the Murray from Wentworth, through two locks and along beautiful outback river banks.
Our excitement about promoting this unique event has been dampened by the spread of the CoronaVirus, its impact on the community and increasing but understandable restrictions. This includes the cancellation of regattas for the rest of the 2019/20 season and closure of rowing clubs, as recently announced by Rowing Victoria and Rowing Australia.
However, with 6 months to go before October, we will continue to plan for an adventurous Flying Doctor Rowathon in the hope that the situation will improve.
We will monitor the directions by the Federal and State Governments as well as those from Rowing Australia and Rowing Victoria and keep you informed. Our website, Facebook and Instagram sites will be updated as more information concerning the holding of events in September/October becomes available.
In the meantime please put 3 October 202 in your diaries.
Please be kind to one another, stay safe and keep well.

In 2019 crews passed through lock 11 on the Murray below Mildura and had a great experience doing so. It was a highlight of the day.
In 2020 the course will take rowers through  locks 10 and 9 as they row down the Murray from Wentworth. Will you be in it?
