2021 Flying Doctor Rowathon

September 11

Wentworth District Rowing Club.

Due to COVID the 2021 event has been CANCELLED

We hope you will join us in 2022

After a special meeting was held last night with the committee of the Flying Doctor Rowathon, the tough decision was made to cancel this year's event.

The decision was not an easy one, especially after cancelling last year's event, however due to the nature of this pandemic, restrictions in place and how quickly it travels, we need to ensure the safety of the rowers, support crews, family and friends and the town of Wentworth. If you have registered you will receive a refund in the coming days.

If you have booked accommodation, we do ask that you make contact with these venues and cancel your reservation.

The RFDS continues to operate, even through a pandemic and now more than ever they need your help. So if you are in a position to do so, they would love your support. You can still donate through the fundraising link set up for the Rowathon click here.

We hope to be back in 2022 bigger and stronger. Stay safe and positive.

We have moved the Flying Doctor Rowathon to September to beat the heat. Over the past years, the weather around Wentworth/Mildura in October has been getting hotter which has made rowing a 70-80Km distance more difficult and dangerous, so we have moved the event to September which is on average 4-5C cooler.

In 2019 crews passed through lock 11 on the Murray below Mildura and had a great experience doing so. It was a highlight of the day.

In 2021 the course will take rowers through locks 10 and 9 as they row down the Murray from Wentworth. Will you be in it?
